چکیده مقاله:
Isotope hydrology provides powerful tools for studies on water resources development and management including groundwater evolution and dynamics. Isotopes and isotope based techniques form part of modern tools, which compliment the conventional methods in hydrological investigations. Nowadays widespread investigations about this field of hydrology were done or have been done in study area in many modern or developing countries. In spite of all these developments, the level application of isotope hydrology in water resources is not as widespread as it should be in Iran. Reasons for this include modernity of nuclear energy, lack of information about nuclear energy usages, lack of adequate coverage in university courses and lack of information. What appears essential is to start giving adequate information about nuclear energy applications, teaching the application of technical knowledge in water recourses and isotope techniques to under graduate and post graduate hydrogeology and hydrology students in the universities. This teaching should be woven into a geochemistry course for groundwater dynamics, not merely for water quality purposes.
