Synthesis, spectral properties, and antibacterial activities Of Cd(II) Complex with saccharinato ligands

A new mixed ligand complex of Cd(II) with 2,2' bipyridine (bpy) and saccharinato (Sac), has been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopy methods. Antibacterial property of the complex as compared with standard antibiotics, Chloramphenicol and Tetracycline, was checked against Gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Pseudomunase aeroginosa and Salmonella enteric and Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis. The results revealed appropriate antibacterial activities for [Cd(bpy) (Sac)2] complex.
