Near Surface Mounted (NSM) is a common method in the strengthening of reinforced concretecolumns. It is tried to focus on the effect of concrete cover on NSM method. Therefore, the columnswere designed and constructed with two different values of the concrete cover. Then, the specimenswere tested under cyclic lateral and constant axial loadings. Using the test outputs, the cycles of loadingand unloading hysteresis curves were plotted. Concrete cover influence on the load bearing capacity,energy dissipation and ductility of the specimens were examined. The test results have shown animprovement in the case using lower concrete cover that involves an increase in the lateral loadcapacity, energy absorption and ductility (up to 12%, 38% and 37%, respectively) in the columns.
