چکیده مقاله:
New composite materials have been during last decades. Functionally graded materials (FGMs)were first introduced in Japan in 1984. FGMs are composite material with inhomogeneousmicrostructure and known as advanced high-performance and heat resistant materials which are able towithstand against ultra-high temperatures and that are used in space crafts and nuclear plants. FGMsare composed of a mixture of ceramic and metal by gradually varying the volume fraction of theconstituent materials. In order to receive the effective mechanical and thermal properties of FGM plate,a simple rule of mixture based on power-law distribution is assumed. The modulus of elasticity of theplate is assumed to vary according to a power-law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of theconstituents. The finite volume method is used for numerical solution problems with by employing theMoving Least Squares (MLS) shape functions for field variables and their derivatives. In this paper athick square plate with different boundary conditions has been analyzed. The accuracy of obtainedresults are compared to other methods which is acceptable.
