چکیده مقاله:

As a purpose of recycling waste from electrical and electronic equipment, a new amidoximated acrylonitrile–butadiene –styrene (AO-ABS) was synthesized via facile modification on the nitrile groups of ABS terpolymer, usinghydroxylamine hydrochloride. Amidoximated product was fully characterized and investigated as a possiblenanoadsorbent for removal of Pb2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+ from aqueous solution. The effect of pH, adsorbent dosage, agitation time, concentration of adsorbate and temperature on the extent of adsorption was investigated to understandadsorption isotherms, kinetics and thermodynamics. The results of the adsorption studies showed that the interactionbetween metal ions and amidoximated groups agree with the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order kineticmodel.Thermodynamic studies of Pb2+ ion indicated that the adsorption process was spontaneous and endothermic.Furthermore, acid regeneration was performed for 3 cycles to recover the adsorbent–metal ion complex to its originalstate. Based on the results, amidoximation on ABS seems to be a suitable recycling method for new applications ofABS as a reusebale nanoadsorbent in removal of heavy metal ions from wastewaters.
