Synthesis and Physicochemical Characterization of CeO2-Doped Pd/Clinoptilolite and Pd/Al2O3 Nanocatalysts Used in Total Oxidation of Toluene at Low Temperatures

چکیده مقاله:

In order to total oxidation of toluene from polluted air, composite nanocatalysts consist of Al2O3, clinoptiloliteand CeO2 were synthesized. Then palladium was loaded on composite support in 1% content using ultrasound waves.The nanocatalysts were characterized by XRD, FESEM, EDX and BET analyses. XRD pattern of nanocatalysts showedthat all of them have been synthesized in nano scale and crystallite size of cerium oxide is about 20-23 nm. BET analysisresults showed that nanocatalysts have appropriate surface area for oxidation reactions. FESEM images confirmednanometer dimensions of nanocatalysts, which is derived from ultrasonic usage. Furthermore catalysts performance inreactor tests showed that despite better performance of Pd/Al2O3-CeO2 compared to nanocatalysts with zeolite support,Pd/Clinoptilolite nanocatalyst has 100% efficiency in 225ºC. Therefore, clinoptilolite could be a good replacement foralumina in terms of price and availability.
