چکیده مقاله:

The main aim of this work is an experimental investigation of ɤ-alumina intermediate layers effect on themicroporous silica membrane performance for hydrogen purification.To implement this performance analysis, twodifferent procedures were used for synthesizing of the ɤ-alumina intermediate layers. One method was common methodthat many researchers apply for surface modification of support by ɤ-alumina layers, while in other method; aninnovation was presented in surface modification of support by particle size controlling of boehmite sol. The uniformityof the mesoporous ɤ-alumina intermediate layers by new strategy was more achievable. After surface modification,micro/nanoporous silica selective layer was synthesized by polymeric sol gel method on both cases of modified ceramicsupport. The experimental results showed that using a particle size control of boehmite sol is a suitable procedure tosurface modification and consequently to synthesis of silica membrane with high performance.
