چکیده مقاله:

The purpose of this work was to evaluate the effect of gold nanoparticles on mechanical propertiesof dental adhesive. Adhesive containing Acetone, bis‐GMA,UDMA, TMPTMA, HEMA and CQ as a photoinitiatorsystem was made. For removing of water from the nanoparticles, particles were precipitated bycentrifuge for 30min and speed of 16000xg. The precipitates were dissolved in different volumes of dentalbinder to obtain different concentration of the nanoparticles in adhesive. It was assumed that the initialconcentration of nanoparticles was 1X then colloidal gold nanoparticles were incorporated into the adhesivesystem in different concentrations of X/10,X/5,1X,5X,10X . The suspensions were ultrasonicated to facilitatethe nanoparticle dispersion. To study the mechanical properties of adhesives containing nanoparticles, flexural strength and tensile strength were measured. SEM was utilized to observe the fracture surface ofsamples. Results show that the tensile strength of adhesive increased with increasing concentration of goldnanoparticles from X/10 to 10X and the optimum concentration of gold nanoparticles is 5X. In addition theflexural strength of sample increased 75% by adding 10X gold particles to dental adhesive.
