Novel hybrid Poly (vinyl alcohol)/chitosan/titanium dioxide nanocomposite membrane were synthesized bymixing their aqueous solutions followed by crosslinking with glutaraldyde. The membrane was characterized by FTIRand FESEM analyses. The effect of TiO2 content in blend membrane on performance of benzene/cyclohexane mixturewas investigated. As the weight fraction of TiO2 in hybrid membrane, permeation flux increased but the separationfactor had optimum value. The permeation flux of hybrid membrane with equal weight ratio of PVA/chitosan was202.42 (g/m2h) and separation was 71.76 for benzene/cyclohexane mixture with 50 wt% of benzene at 50°C.
