Synthesis, Characterization, and the Influence of Functionalized Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes with 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives on the Gastric Cancer Cells

In this study, multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were modified and functionalized with bis(2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole), bis(2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazolyl)methane and bis(2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazolyl)benzene. We investigatedthe formation of anti cancer agents, functionalization on MWNTs, in addition to developing the amidation of MWNTswith aromatic diamines. Functionalized carbon nanotubes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR),Raman, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and elemental analysis. Biological activity with human gastric cancercells and MTT test for measurement of viable cell numbers were also performed.
