Sonochemical Synthesis and Characterization of [Zn(dmbpy)3](PF6)2 Nanocomplex (dmbpy = 4,4'-Dimethyl-2,2'-Bipyridine )

Nanoparticles of a zinc(II) complex, [Zn(dmbpy)3](PF6)2, where dmbpy is 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine, hasbeen prepared by a sonochemical method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), zeta-sizer, Fouriertransform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The [Zn(dmbpy)3](PF6)2 complex was characterizedsuccessfully by X-ray diffraction analysis. The SEM images show that the synthesized nanocomplex has nano-structure.The results obtained from zeta-sizer show that the complex nanoparticles have size 28.2 to 50.8 nm and 39.6% of thecomplex nanoparticles have size 37.8 nm.
