Antibacterial activity of copper oxide nanoplatelets

Antimicrobial properties of copper oxide nanoplatelets synthesized by a simple, green and surfactant-freehydrothermal method were studied. Copper (II) chloride was used as a precursor and sodium hydroxide as a reducingagent. CuO nanoplatelets were characterized by UV–Visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and ScanningElectron Microscopy (SEM). Antibacterial activity of CuO nanoplatelets was tested against Eschericia coli. CuOnanoplatelets showed efficient activity against Eschericia coli.
