Removal of NOx with propane using Iranian natural zeolite

In this research the catalytic behaviour of protonated clinoptilolite zeolite in propane-SCR-NOx(NO+NO2) in the temperature range of 200-500 °C as a function of mesh size for a GHSV of 20280 h-1 and0.45g zeolite was reported. This zeolite showed high activity for catalytic reduction of NOx with propane asreducing agent so that 60% conversion of NOx to N2 is achieved. It is observed that for mesh size of ≥35 sizedependency of the nitrogen production reaction rate is insignificant.
