A CO MPARISON BETWEEN ANALYTICAL AND NUMERICAL APPROACHES TO MEASURE RELATIVE PERMEABILITY DATA FROM UNSTEADY STATE CORE FLOODING EXPERIMENTS

Two approaches of analytical calculations or numerical history matching procedures can be applied to extract the relative permeability curves from unsteady state core flooding experiments (as the most applicable procedure to measure relative permeability data). Although the limitation andimprovements for both of the mentioned approaches are well studied in the literature, a sophisticated comparison between them considering laboratory output data errors is missing in the literature. This study shows that inevitable (reading and recording) errors of the laboratory data can affect the analytical approaches considerably while it has very little effect on the numerical history matching results.
