چکیده مقاله:

Glass-reinforced aluminum laminate (GLARE) is a new type of fiber metal laminates which have a specialcombination of properties and are very suitable for advanced aerospace and aircraft structural industries. In this study, the specimens were manufactured by hand layup procedure and were made of thin aluminum-magnesium sheets joined together with reinforced fiber glass specimens with high-strength. This article presents an experimental study of the tensile, impact, and vibration properties of the GLARE laminates. The modal analysis was used to investigate thevibration properties. Some other standard tests were also used to study the tensile and impact properties of the GLARE laminates. The results indicated that the aluminum-magnesium layer increases the composite toughness and ductility. In addition, ultimate tensile strength of the materials was improved by increasing the percentage of the reinforcement. It was found that aluminum layer has led to an increase in the natural frequency of the specimens.
