Sang-Kelidar Caravanserai is one significant monuments in the ancient Silk Road, which is located in Sang-Kelidar, a village of Sabzevar city. The present study has been proposed in the scope of Sang-Kelidar and its Caravanserai by the author, as the methodology of this study includes both library (data collection, geological maps, geomorphology, vegetation, and meteorological data) and field methods (direct observation). In the context of the restoration, the historic buildings, e.g. caravanserais, sunshades, interconnective centers, etc. afar from the city centers and the new communication equipments are discussed, which have always less usages or utilizations in contrast to the urban and suburban buildings, as a result the efforst is made to answer two main research queries: (1) Assessment of strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities in Sang-Kelidar to reach the specific ecotourism area, where it is aimed to identify the capabilities, attractions and problems in this area, (2) Could the eco-camp usage be given to a suburban caravanserai with the practical ecotourism development capacity?The results show that Sang-Kelidar Area has many capabilities, if any investment occurs in the ecotourism included in the regional development and employment plans as the typical region for other desert and semi-mountainous regions in Khorasan. Since the eco-camp usage for a suburban monument, e.g. Caravanserai, may return the historical, cultural, architectural values in the local, national, and global scales
