The impact of social interactions on legibility of urban districts A case study: Sirjan

Since this problem (decreasing legibility) is formed as the result of decreasing mental image ofpeople from their neighborhood and their work, ultimately will lead to decrease in their interestto environment and less social correlation and causes sense of reliance, relaxation and livelinessto disappear from urban spaces. Thus, based on the connection between mental image and socialcorrelation and also to decrease the harmful effects resulting from decreasing legibility inneighborhoods of city, this study considers the increase of social interactions in urban spaces as auseful and effective solution and for analyzing this issue, it evaluates the legibility level in twoneighborhoods of Sirjan with different correlation level (low and high).The results of this study confirm that there is a high correlation between increasing socialinteractions and increasing legibility. Based on conditions of urban spaces in Sirjan and with theaim of increasing social interactions and increasing legibility and construction of Mixed Usespaces in neighborhoods of Sirjan, this study has been proposed.
