Lateral buckling of beams

In determining elastic lateral buckling strength of beamss man code of practice do not take into account the restraining effects of adjacent spans of the beam on the buckling capacity in this articles a simple and eas to use approximate method has been proposed for evaluating elastic lateral buckling strength of beams. Parametric studies have been carried out to demonstrate the results obtained by this approach and compared with those obtained through exact solution.
