The Effect of Different Fertilizer Doses on the Bulb Yield and Floristic Traits of Some Tulip Cultivars

This study was conducted to test the different fertilizer doses on bulb yields and floristic traits of some Tulip cultivars. The investigation was conducted on the experimental fields of Bayindir Training Collage of Ege University in 2009. Tulip cultivars; Negrita, Sogetsu, Menton, Oxford Elite, Claudia, Inzell, Leenvid Mark and Queen of Night were the plant materials of the research. The traits such as first shoot formation time, beginning of flowering time, end of flowering, flowering period, plant height, bulb size and bulb yield were tested.Results indicated that, flowering period was between 17 – 35 days, plant hight was between 33 cm and 47 cm in experimental cultivars. As a bulb yields, there were statistically significant differences between cultivars and fertilizer doses. The highest bulb yield was obtained from Sogetsu and variety of Inzell gavethe lowest yield.
