چکیده مقاله:

Experimental investigations on oscillating water column (OWC) wave energy caissons with three different harbour configurations (Rectangular, Flared and Semi-flared) were carried out to estimate the pneumatic efficiency, wave reflection, wave energy loss, inline and vertical wave forces. The effect of the OWC system damping, harbour shape, tidal variations and wave periods on these hydrodynamic parameters were investigated. The OWC device with rectangular harbour has higher pneumatic efficiency than flared and semi-flared harbour device. The device with flared harbour reflects significant wave power compared to the other two devices. In general, the power loss by the semi-flared harbour device is more compared to the other two devices. The device with rectangular harbour attracts more forces than flared and semi-flared harbour devices. Hence from the pneumatic efficiency point of view, OWC device with rectangular harbour is better and from the force point of view the OWC device with flared harbour is better.
