Leachate migration from Urmia landfill site, Iran, and it’s effect on the quality of the surrounding soil and groundwater

The leachate migrting from the open dump solid waste landfill in Urmia city,iran, and is effect on the surrounding soil and groundwater quality was studied. Site investigation and the results of the soil and groundwater quality showed that the soil deposits have played a significant role as a barrier for contaminants migrating down gradient of the landfill.
