Classification system for evaluation of water effect on mechanical behavior of intact and jointed rocks with case study

Many surface and underground rock excavations are in contact with moisture and water. For economic and safety design of such structures, the evaluation of water effect on rock properties is necessary. In this research, the effect of water on the mechanical behavior of intact and jointed rock mass is studied. on the bases of physical chemical and mechanical effect of water on intact and jointed rock particles(elements), and also watereffect on mechanical and physical indices such as compressive strength porosity, rock structure and texture, type of minerals, weathering. swelling, squeezing and dissolution;inted rock.
