چکیده مقاله:

The concept Pneumatic Shifter mechanism is a design of an Air-forced shifting mechanism that connects and disconnects two rotating shafts of DWS and ECB. On drilling Rigs, DSC3 is used to transfer power between DWS to ECB. Generally DSC comes in line at condition of ‘Tripping down’ and ‘Rig up (or down)’ to control the rotational speed of drum shaft of DWS by eddy braking power of ECB. A hand-operated lever connects and disconnects DSC to transmit power between DWS and ECB. These types of operation can potentially increase the risk to Manpower and Equipment of Drilling Rig. My designed shifter system is a unitized mechanism with two-way-shifting position that can easily be removed or assembled on skid of ECB. By this mechanism, DSC will be changed into air-shiftedsystem from a manually-levered-shifter. Aside it, designed interlock allows only one air-operated valve be in line at a time to avoid from conflict and interface with other valves of DWS. The designed mechanism obtains minimum backlash and reduces impact or shock loads as compared to the manual type. All technical drawings, mechanical design, calibration, calculation, assembling, and simulation carried out by software SOLIDWORKS- 2010. Synthesis & analyze of elements provided by software package ARTAS-SAM . Pneumatic circuits, cylinder, pressure lines and valves are designed and simulated by FESTO’s software: FLUID-SIM. High safety, low cost and lack of electrical (to avoid explosion through drilling gas wells) are advantages of this mechanism. However According to (Laboratory) research, main material of production is AISI4140.
