چکیده مقاله:

Aim: This study investigates the relationship between sexual abuse, spirituality, and religion in individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). Method: A descriptive correlational research method was employed. The statistical population included female students from the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Science and Research during the ۲۰۲۰-۲۰۲۱ academic year, with a sample size of ۱۵۰. Tools for measurement included the Border Personality Questionnaire (۱۹۹۹), King's Spirituality and Religion Questionnaire (۲۰۰۸), and the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (۱۹۸۸). Data analysis was conducted using SPSS ۲۰, employing descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential tests, including Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses. Results: The multiple regression analysis revealed an R-value of ۰.۵۶۲ and an R² value of ۰.۳۱۵, indicating that sexual abuse trauma accounts for ۳۱% of the variance in BPD scores. Specifically, physical abuse significantly predicts BPD (p = ۰.۰۰۱, β = ۰.۳۵۶), as does emotional abuse (p = ۰.۰۰۱, β = ۰.۳۲۱) and sexual abuse (p = ۰.۰۰۱, β = ۰.۲۸۹). the multiple regression analysis yielded an R-value of ۰.۴۷۸ and an R² value of ۰.۲۲۸, suggesting that spirituality and religion explain ۲۲% of the variance in BPD scores. Critical thinking negatively predicts BPD (p = ۰.۰۰۱, β = -۰.۳۰۰), personal meaning also has a negative predictive value (p = ۰.۰۰۱, β = -۰.۲۷۶).Conclusion: The findings indicate that components of sexual and emotional abuse, along with physical abuse, positively predict BPD, while aspects of spirituality and religion, critical thinking, personal meaning, and consciousness, negatively predict BPD.
