چکیده مقاله:

Electromagnetic absorbers play an important role in terahertz systems, particularly in the detection, control, and processing of incident waves. Due to the limitations of natural materials in achieving high absorption at high frequencies, metasurfaces have attracted considerable attention as an effective platform for engineering electromagnetic responses. In this work, a multifunctional metasurface based on vanadium dioxide (VO۲) is designed and investigated for thermally controlled terahertz applications. Owing to its unique properties, including reversible phase transition and significant conductivity variation, VO۲ is employed to dynamically regulate impedance matching and control the absorption and transmission responses of the structure. The proposed metasurface is simulated using CST Studio Suite ۲۰۲۴, and the effect of the phase transition of VO۲ on its electromagnetic performance is analyzed. The results show that, at ۰.۵۸ THz, the proposed structure exhibits identical responses for right-handed circular polarization (RHCP) and left-handed circular polarization (LHCP). Specifically, at temperatures above ۶۸_x۰۰۰۲_C, the absorption reaches ۸۸.۲۵%, while at temperatures below ۶۸_x۰۰۰۲_C, the structure exhibits a transmission of ۸۸.۲۵% at the same frequency. These results demonstrate the thermal switching capability of the proposed metasurface and highlight its potential for application in tunable and multifunctional terahertz devices.
