چکیده مقاله:
The Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Digital Twins (DTs) are changing how digital models and physical products interact. The Industrial Internet of Things connects to intelligence in the physical world, and Digital Twins virtually represent their physical counterparts. As a result, Digital Twins will be invaluable for testing and simulating new parameters and design variants. The manufacturing world is in the middle of an exciting transformation. Factories are no longer just physical spaces; they're becoming intelligent, connected hubs buzzing with smart technology. This shift, called smart manufacturing, blends the Industrial Internet of Things, automation, and data analytics to help people work smarter. A key player in this revolution is the digital twin. Think of it as a living digital copy of a real object be it a single machine or a whole production line. This virtual model gets a constant stream of real-time data, unlocking amazing possibilities. You can monitor operations live, predict maintenance before a part fails, run "what-if" simulations, and make production more flexible. However, as digital twins grow more common and are shared across companies, they also make old challenges bigger. Concerns about data accuracy, cybersecurity, a lack of trust between partners, and unclear rules for sharing information become even more pressing. Right now, most digital twins live on centralized cloud systems, which can be a vulnerability. This central point can be a single target for failure and raises questions about data ownership and unauthorized changes.
