چکیده مقاله:

Six-phase induction motor drives (۶PIM) represent an attractive solution for high-power and safety-critical applications due to their superior fault tolerance and higher power density compared to conventional three-phase counterparts. This paper presents a two-dimensional finite element analysis (۲D-FEM) validation for a deadbeat virtual vector predictive control (DB-VV-MPC) strategy with fixed switching frequency. The proposed method synergistically integrates deadbeat control for analytical reference voltage calculation, virtual voltage vectors for inherent suppression of xy subspace harmonics, and symmetrical ۷-segment modulation to guarantee constant switching frequency, simultaneously achieving excellent power quality and fast dynamics. In the previous paper, the performance of DB-VV-MPC was evaluated through comparative simulations in MATLAB/Simulink against DTC and FCS-MPC methods. The present paper is dedicated to validating the results using FEM analysis in ANSYS Maxwell for a ۵.۵ kW motor with ۳۶ stator slots, ۲۸ rotor slots, and ۴ poles. FEM analysis results demonstrate excellent agreement with circuit simulation: current root mean square error (RMSE) of ۰.۳۲ A (۲.۷%), correlation coefficient R² of ۰.۹۸۶ between THD curves, and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of ۲.۴%. Magnetic flux density distribution analysis reveals a maximum flux density of ۱.۵۵ T in the stator teeth, well within the IEEE ۱۱۲ recommended range (۱.۴-۱.۷ T). Air gap flux density measures ۰.۹۲ T, stator yoke flux density ۱.۲۸ T, and rotor teeth flux density ۱.۳۸ T. A saturation margin of ۱۳.۹% exceeds the minimum ۸% recommended by IEC ۶۰۰۳۴-۱. Flux line analysis confirms the correct four-pole pattern and disturbances with frequency ۳۶ arising from slotting effects. Magnetic potential A distribution ranging from -۰.۰۱۵ to +۰.۰۱۵ Wb/m validates the accuracy of magnetic field modeling. The results of this paper provide comprehensive validation for the dynamic motor model presented in the previous work. The excellent agreement between FEM results and circuit simulation demonstrates that the Simulink-developed model accurately predicts the physical behavior of the motor. FEM analysis further confirms that the motor operates in the linear magnetic region with adequate saturation margin for rated condition performance. These results establish a solid foundation for practical implementation of the DB-VV-MPC method in industrial applications such as marine propulsion and electric vehicles.
