چکیده مقاله:

The concept of resilience is now the new catch word brought up as part of the vision statements in many complex adaptive systems in local. National and international levels to present solutions for the world‟s complex problems, in this complex adaptive systemse, urban problems. This concept has started a long journey from many disciplines. Its use is spreading through many fields as its capacity to deal with complex and unpredictable issue is becoming more tangible. The international urge to create resilient cities , competing closely with sustainable development is spreading its use worldwide. The aim of this article is to introduce the concept of urban resilience in the field of urban design which has been left unclear even in the international ongoing campaigns. We need to extract attributes of urban resilience from resilience studies which usually come from other disciplines. Therefore this is a literature review with the aim of unveiling the attributes, extracted from the resilience literature which sync with urban design principles and introduce them as a set of principles which can be used to build up guidelines and documents for delivering resilience via urban design toolkits.
