چکیده مقاله:
This study presents a comparative numerical investigation into the structural response of single-span and two-span reinforced concrete tunnels subjected to combined vertical and lateral loading. Utilizing three-dimensional finite element analysis in ABAQUS, the research evaluates the performance of both tunnel configurations under a simultaneous application of ۲۰۰ kN vertical load at the crown and ۲۰۰ kN lateral load. The models consist of an ۸-meter span, ۳۰-cm lining thickness for both single-span (۴m height) and two-span (with intermediate support) tunnels. The primary objective is to compare the stress distributions and displacement patterns to assess the effectiveness of the intermediate support in managing combined loading effects. Preliminary analyses indicate that the two-span tunnel configuration exhibits superior performance, characterized by reduced peak von Mises stresses and significantly lower displacements compared to the single-span tunnel. These findings underscore the benefits of employing intermediate supports in tunnel design, particularly under complex loading scenarios, leading to enhanced structural stability and efficiency.
