چکیده مقاله:
The structural performance of continuous concrete bridge decks is fundamentally dictated by their span configuration and the degree of structural indeterminacy. This study presents a comparative numerical analysis of the structural response of ۳۰-cm thick continuous concrete bridge decks, evaluating the behavioral differences between two-span and three-span configurations under vertical distributed loading. Utilizing finite element analysis (FEA), the mechanical performance of both systems was investigated, with a specific focus on the distribution of Von Mises stress and maximum vertical displacement ( ). The numerical results indicate significant variations in structural behavior: the three-span system exhibits distinct stress redistribution patterns and deformation characteristics compared to the two-span arrangement, primarily due to the influence of additional internal supports on the global stiffness of the structure. These findings highlight that while continuous configurations provide enhanced structural redundancy, the number of spans is a decisive factor in managing deck demand. The study concludes that comparative numerical evaluation is essential for optimizing span arrangements, ensuring that serviceability and stress limits are maintained effectively in multi-span short-bridge designs under uniform loading conditions.
