چکیده مقاله:
This research presents a comparative assessment of the structural behavior of single-span versus three-span continuous concrete bridge decks, both featuring a ۴۰-cm slab thickness and an ۸-meter span, under vertical point loadings. The primary objective is to evaluate the influence of structural continuity on stress distribution and vertical displacement through finite element analysis (FEA). While the simply supported single-span system provides a baseline for structural response, the three-span continuous system introduces complex interaction between spans, fundamentally altering the load-carrying mechanism. The study demonstrates that while continuity facilitates a redistribution of moments, it also leads to significant variations in peak Von Mises stress and vertical deformation compared to the determinate single-span configuration. The findings highlight the critical role of support conditions and continuity in the structural performance of concrete bridge decks. This comparative analysis provides essential insights for structural engineers in selecting appropriate bridge systems based on serviceability requirements, load-bearing efficiency, and the necessity for precise reinforcement detailing in continuous deck regions.
