چکیده مقاله:

This study presents a comparative structural assessment of two distinct reinforced concrete bridge configurations: an ۸-meter simply supported single-span bridge and an ۸-meter two-span continuous system. Both models feature a ۳۰-cm thick deck slab and are subjected to identical service-level combined loading scenarios, consisting of a ۵۰ kN/m distributed load supplemented by a ۲۰۰ kN concentrated vertical force applied at mid-span. Utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) via Abaqus, the structural behavior, including Von Mises stress distribution and vertical displacement characteristics, is systematically evaluated and contrasted. The findings reveal that structural continuity significantly influences the load transfer mechanism, resulting in a more efficient redistribution of internal forces compared to the simply supported system. This comparative study provides critical insights into the performance benefits of continuous bridge deck configurations, offering valuable guidance for optimizing structural design and enhancing the serviceability of concrete bridges under complex, real-world loading conditions.
