چکیده مقاله:

This study provides a comparative numerical analysis to evaluate the structural behavior of ۳۰-cm thick concrete bridge decks under vertical point loadings, specifically focusing on the impact of structural continuity. Two structural configurations are modeled and compared: a single-span bridge and a two-span continuous bridge. Both models maintain identical material properties, loading conditions, and deck thickness to isolate the effect of the support system on structural response. Using finite element analysis (FEA) in Abaqus, the study quantifies variations in von Mises stress distribution and vertical displacement (U۲) induced by the transition from a simply supported single-span system to a continuous two-span arrangement. The comparative results highlight how structural continuity redistributes internal forces, effectively reducing mid-span deflections and altering stress concentrations near the intermediate pier. This research offers valuable insights into the efficiency of continuous bridge systems compared to single-span designs, providing a quantitative basis for structural optimization.
