چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the structural behavior of a two-span continuous concrete bridge subjected to a combination of concentrated vertical loading and uniformly distributed load, with particular emphasis on the influence of a ۴۰ cm deck slab on system response. A detailed finite element model was developed in Abaqus to simulate the load-transfer mechanisms, stress distribution, and vertical displacement (U۲) across the ۸ m + ۸ m spans. The combined loading condition generates both localized and distributed bending effects, resulting in intensified stress concentrations near the point load application and broader flexural demands along the span under the distributed load. The analysis reveals that the maximum von Mises stress and peak displacement occur in regions governed by the interaction of the two load types, highlighting the nonlinear amplification of structural demand compared with single-load scenarios. Despite these increased demands, the continuous deck configuration effectively redistributes internal forces toward the intermediate support, reducing mid-span deflection and enhancing overall stiffness. The findings provide valuable insight into the mechanical performance of continuous short-span concrete bridges under realistic multi-component loading conditions, contributing to improved design strategies and serviceability assessment for reinforced concrete bridge decks.
