چکیده مقاله:
Multi-span bridges are fundamental elements of transportation networks, where the continuity of the deck over intermediate supports plays a critical role in structural efficiency. This study investigates the mechanical behavior of a two-span continuous concrete bridge, featuring a ۳۰-cm thick deck slab, subjected to vertical point loadings. Utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) through the Abaqus software, the research evaluates the structural response, focusing on stress distribution patterns and vertical displacement characteristics throughout the continuous span system. The numerical results highlight the influence of deck continuity on the bridge’s load-carrying mechanism, specifically regarding the development of stress concentrations at the intermediate pier and the mitigation of mid-span deflections compared to simply supported systems. The findings demonstrate that the ۳۰-cm deck slab provides robust structural performance, maintaining serviceability under the applied concentrated loads. This study contributes valuable insights into the behavior of two-span concrete bridges, providing design engineers with a deeper understanding of how deck continuity and geometry influence the overall structural integrity and performance of multi-span short-span bridge configurations.
