چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Gait stability is a key indicator of functional health in older adults and plays a critical role in fall prevention and maintaining independence. Regular physical activity can enhance neuromuscular efficiency and improve biomechanical parameters associated with stable gait. This study aimed to compare gait stability between active and inactive older adults using biomechanical indicators and to examine its implications for sustainable health. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, ۳۰ older adults were assigned to active (n=۱۵) and inactive (n=۱۵) groups. Biomechanical data, including center of pressure, ground reaction forces, lower-limb joint angles, and joint moments, were collected using a force plate and a three-dimensional motion capture system. Data analysis was performed using standard kinematic and kinetic procedures, and group differences were examined using Independent t-tests and ANOVA.Results: Active older adults demonstrated significantly lower COP fluctuations compared to inactive participants (p=۰.۰۱۲). Vertical GRF patterns were more consistent in the active group, with significant differences between groups (p=۰.۰۳۱). Knee joint range of motion was greater in active individuals (p=۰.۰۱۸), and ankle joint moments during the push-off phase were more efficient (p=۰.۰۲۶). These findings indicate superior gait stability, improved postural control, and greater movement efficiency in active older adults. Conclusion: Regular physical activity plays a crucial role in enhancing gait stability, reducing fall risk, and promoting sustainable health in older adults. The findings provide valuable insights for designing exercise programs, rehabilitation strategies, and health policies targeting aging populations.
