چکیده مقاله:

The complement system is a critical component of the innate immune response, acting as a double-edged sword during pregnancy. While controlled activation of complement is required for placental development, trophoblast invasion, and spiral artery remodeling (Regal et al., ۲۰۱۵), uncontrolled activation is a potent driver of pregnancy complications, including recurrent pregnancy loss, preeclampsia, and intrauterine growth restriction (Girardi et al., ۲۰۰۶). This article reviews the balance between complement activation and its membrane-bound (CD۴۶, CD۵۵, CD۵۹) and soluble regulators, and highlights the clinical implications of complement dysregulation, with particular attention to the antiphospholipid syndrome, where blockade of C۵ has proven therapeutic potential (Salmon and Girardi, ۲۰۰۸).
