چکیده مقاله:

Objective: This review synthesizes literature from ۲۰۱۶ to ۲۰۲۶ on artificial intelligence applications in health promotion and diabetes self-management, focusing on behavioral interventions, health literacy, and patient empowerment. Methods: A narrative review was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, examining studies on AI-driven health education, conversational agents, behavioral change interventions, and health literacy enhancement for diabetes prevention and self-care. Results: AI-powered interventions demonstrate significant potential in improving diabetes self-care behaviors, health literacy, and patient empowerment. Conversational agents and chatbots effectively deliver personalized health education, enhance diabetes knowledge, and support self-management. AI-designed health literacy tools, when integrated with behavioral change theories, significantly improve self-care behaviors, self-efficacy, and treatment adherence. Large language models can generate empathetic, clinically credible, and accessible health information, particularly benefiting individuals with limited health literacy. Conclusion: AI offers transformative potential for health promotion and diabetes self-management through personalized behavioral interventions, enhanced health literacy, and patient empowerment. However, challenges persist regarding algorithmic bias, digital equity, and the need for rigorous clinical validation. Future directions emphasize human-centered AI design, integration with behavioral change theories, and addressing health disparities through accessible digital health tools.
