چکیده مقاله:

Technological advancements in recent decades have led to a significant transformation in medical science, and one of the most important achievements of this transformation is the development of robotic surgical systems. This technology, by combining robotic engineering, ۳D imaging, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and surgical navigation systems, has enabled surgical procedures to be performed with precision beyond the natural ability of the human hand. Among the various branches of medicine, oral, maxillofacial surgery is one of the most suitable areas for the use of robotic technology due to the complexity of anatomical structures, the density of vital nerves and vessels, the need for very high precision, and the importance of aesthetic results. The use of surgical robots has reduced damage to healthy tissues, increased precision in cutting bone and soft tissue, reduced bleeding, shortened hospitalization, reduced postoperative pain, and increased patient satisfaction. Also, the possibility of ۳D preoperative design, simulation of surgical procedures, precise guidance of instruments, and control of movements with an accuracy of a few tenths of a millimeter has significantly improved the quality of treatment. Despite these advantages, the high cost of equipment, the need for specialized training of surgeons, technical limitations, and limited access in many developing countries are among the obstacles to the spread of this technology. However, the global trend shows that with the advancement of artificial intelligence, the reduction of equipment costs, and the development of intelligent systems, robotics will become one of the main pillars of oral, maxillofacial surgery in the future.
