An investigating the antiparasitic effect of sulfur hot springs on sheep flocks using the minimal lethality method

Since long ago, animals were infected with secondary diseases due to their skin, such as some parasites and fungi, and these cases increased the number of casualties. With the diverse nature of our country, there is a volcanic hot spring that has sulfur and many other substances in it, which can help in controlling and eradicating all kinds of parasites and fungal skin dermatitis. First, external parasites (mites) were collected from ۲۰ tick-infected sheep in Dehloran region from different flocks randomly (some one hundred were removed), in the next step, ۱۰۰۰ ml of Water from two sulfur springs in Dehloran and Mehran cities in Ilam province was collected. Then ۱۰ concentrations were prepared from ۱۰% to ۱۰۰%. The ticks that were transported in laboratory plates were placed in eleven test tubes, which included one tube containing distilled water as a control sample and ten other tubes containing different concentrations of the desired substance, and the results after ۱۵. They were removed for ۲۰ minutes and examined by a loupe microscope. From the concentration of ۷۰% to ۱۰۰%, it was observed that there was a good effect, and at a concentration of ۱۰۰%, it was observed that the movement of ticks was completely stopped. Considering the low cost and availability of this method for areas that have such springs, it can be concluded that this method can be used in herds that are far from access to anti-parasitic drugs.
