چکیده مقاله:

The family crisis in the contemporary world is not merely a demographic or legal phenomenon; rather, it signals a weakening of the civilizational function of this fundamental institution. Addressing the question, “What normative and practical potential does the Qur’anic triad of sakīnah–mawaddah–raḥmah in Qur’an ۳۰:۲۱ offer for a civilizational response to the family crisis?”, this study seeks to develop a theoretical–applied framework for the institutional reconstruction of the family. The research employs a textual–exegetical analysis of the verse, drawing upon classical and contemporary Shi‘i and Sunni Qur’anic commentaries, alongside a systematic review of international empirical evidence concerning marriage, divorce, and fertility. The study’s principal innovation lies in rereading the Qur’anic triad as a “civilizational matrix” comprising structural tranquility (sakīnah), enduring emotional capital (mawaddah), and a mechanism of ethical repair (raḥmah), and in connecting these dimensions to institutional and social policy levels. The findings indicate that when these three components are incorporated into the institutional architecture of the family—including education, welfare, media, and law—they can contribute to restoring the family’s fundamental functions and strengthening social capital.
