چکیده مقاله:

The global business environment has entered a period of heightened volatility, often described as the post-trade uncertainty era. This phase has been shaped by escalating geopolitical tensions, prolonged U. S. -China trade disputes, widespread tariff implementations, and the massive disruptions caused by the COVID-۱۹ pandemic. Traditional lean supply chain models, which prioritized cost efficiency and just-in-time delivery, have proven highly vulnerable to these shocks, resulting in widespread shortages, production delays, and increased operational costs across industries (Christopher & Peck, ۲۰۰۴; Ivanov, ۲۰۲۰). In response, sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) has emerged as a critical strategic framework. SSCM integrates environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability—commonly referred to as the triple bottom line—into core supply chain operations (Seuring & Müller, ۲۰۰۸; Elkington, ۱۹۹۷). This article provides a conceptual analysis of how sustainable strategies can transform supply chain vulnerabilities into sources of resilience and competitive advantage. Specifically, it examines three key areas: supplier diversification to reduce geographic and political risks, ethical sourcing to enhance transparency and stakeholder trust, and resilience-building practices such as circular economy principles and collaborative networks. Drawing upon a synthesis of academic literature, industry reports, and case examples from ۲۰۱۵ to ۲۰۲۲, the study demonstrates that organizations adopting these approaches experience improved risk mitigation, faster recovery from disruptions, stronger brand reputation, and access to new market opportunities. Ethical and sustainable practices not only address immediate trade-related challenges but also align with growing consumer demands for responsible business conduct and regulatory pressures for greater accountability. The findings underscore the shift from reactive crisis management to proactive, value-creating supply chain design. Practical recommendations are provided for multinational corporations, SMEs, and policymakers to foster more robust global supply networks. Ultimately, this research argues that sustainability is no longer a peripheral concern but a foundational element for thriving in an uncertain global trade landscape. Future empirical studies should further validate these conceptual insights across diverse sectors and regions.
