چکیده مقاله:

As teachers, we all know that having a passion for science and a strong background in teaching science, technology, engineering, and mathematics is critical to our students’ success. Jobs that require routine, routine skills have declined, while jobs with non-routine technical skills have increased dramatically over the past decade. This article will examine inquiry-based strategies as a way to generate student interest in science. Inquiry is a process that students use to resolve uncertainty. Inquiry requires someone to use reflective and critical thinking skills. Inquiry-based instruction is student-centered, and the teacher is seen as a facilitator of knowledge and learning. This article will focus on two inquiry-based instructional strategies: the E۵ model and the acquisition of meaning. The E۵ model uses five steps: entry (or engagement), investigation, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation. The concept acquisition model is appropriate for teaching concepts that have a specific set of characteristics. This strategy uses a process that allows students to create their own definitions and understandings.
