چکیده مقاله:
This study examines the relationships between education-based hypergamy and social interaction among unmarried women in China, with a focus on the mediating roles of work motivation and job satisfaction. Grounded in the context of shifting gender norms and rising educational attainment among women, this research investigates a critical tension between traditional marital expectations and modern aspirations. Using a quantitative approach, a sample of ۴۵۸ participants completed validated measurement scales, and Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were conducted. The results revealed that education-based hypergamy was variable most strongly associated with of reduced social interaction. Conversely, work motivation was positively correlated with social interaction, suggesting that women who prioritize their professional goals are more likely to experience increased social engagement. These findings highlight the intricate interplay between marital expectations, individual aspirations, and job satisfaction. Policymakers and social institutions are encouraged to consider these dynamics when developing strategies to address declining social engagement and mental well-being.
