چکیده مقاله:

Climate change is one of the most significant environmental challenges facing the world, and its pace has accelerated due to the increasing emission of greenhouse gases and teleconection phenomena. Among the well-known consequences of climate change are alterations nin precipitation patterns, increased drought frequency, and changes in the levels of surface and groundwater resources. This research investigates how climate-related changes are influencing the economic performance of agriculture worldwide. Given the complex and varied drivers of climate change and its far-reaching consequences, developing countries with limited economic resources are becoming increasingly vulnerable to the adverse impacts associated with these environmental changes. Ensuring food supply for a growing population is achievable through increased agricultural production; however, this often occurs under unsustainable conditions. At the same time, agricultural expansion itself is one of the primary sources of greenhouse gas emissions. The research methodology is qualitative-analytical, with data collected from various databases. Key findings on the economic impacts of climate change on agricultural production published between ۲۰۰۴ and ۲۰۲۱ were extracted, alongside an analysis of the most recent databases from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The results indicate that climate change disproportionately affects developing countries-nations facing rapid urbanization, increasing water scarcity, and limited technological development as major challenges. Technology and knowledge transfer have so far provided only limited support to these countries. However, by formulating effective adaptation strategies, the negative impacts of climate change on food security can be reduced or even eliminated.
