چکیده مقاله:
Catechins are polyphenolic compounds whose birthplace is East Asia. Green tea is rich in catechins, which comprise ۷۵ percent of the leaves and can account for up to ۳۰ % of their dry weight. The best widely studied green tea compound is (-)-epigallocatechin-۳-gallate (EGCG). EGCG is, so far, the most researched catechin derivative. It is known as the significant catechin, and most studies have been done on it. Clinical evidence indicated that green tea extracts and catechins, notably EGCG, possess various bioactivities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, genoprotective, chemopreventive, skin regenerative, and anti-lipogenic properties, which may contribute to their therapeutic effects. The catechins group is most commonly known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities—catechins in green tea promise anti-wrinkle factors due to their excellent free radical scavenging activity. Also, by investigating the effects of catechins on skin aging variables and UV effects, it can be found that catechin is significant for the skin and an excellent sunscreen supplement. The purpose of this study is to review the properties of green tea and catechins. We also examine the effects of catechins on skin problems such as skin aging and UV radiation. We have focused on examining the effects of green tea and tea catechins and their performance and effects on skin problems such as aging and UV. We considered and collected results by reviewing them in published articles (clinical trials and scientific reviews).
