The Importance of Risk Management in Insurance

Risk is a concept that exists in all human activities, some with higher risk and some with lower. In most countries, including Iran, insurance serves as a key tool for risk management and reducing the financial burden arising from natural disasters. Therefore, risk is the core of an insurance company, which provides insurance protection against hazards under specific conditions. Consequently, risk assessment is the most important part of the risk management process and insurance issuance operations. The research findings indicate that risk management in enterprises is not applied effectively and systematically in the area of financial and operational risks of insurance companies. Therefore, it seems that having a mechanism in the country's insurance industry that monitors how risks are managed in insurance companies and ensures appropriate disclosure of risks could be important.
