چکیده مقاله:

The fabrication of multifunctional textile materials based on conductive polymer/metal oxide nanocomposites has attracted increasing attention owing to their promising applications in smart and protective textiles. In the present study, a CuO/polyaniline/chitosan nanocomposite coating was successfully fabricated on cotton fabric through a simple coating process. Chitosan served as a biodegradable polymer matrix with excellent film-forming ability, while polyaniline contributed to the formation of a conductive network and copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were incorporated to enhance the functional performance of the coating. The structural and morphological characteristics of the coated fabric were investigated using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). FTIR spectra confirmed the successful incorporation of chitosan, polyaniline, and CuO nanoparticles through the appearance of their characteristic functional groups, whereas SEM images revealed a homogeneous coating layer with a relatively uniform distribution of CuO nanoparticles over the cotton fibers. In addition, a methylene blue droplet test demonstrated that the coated fabric effectively resisted dye adsorption after ۱ h of exposure, indicating promising stain-resistant and self-cleaning potential. Furthermore, the incorporation of CuO nanoparticles is expected to impart antibacterial functionality owing to their well-established antimicrobial characteristics. The obtained results demonstrate that the synthesized CuO/polyaniline/chitosan nanocomposite coating provides a simple and environmentally friendly strategy for developing multifunctional cotton fabrics with potential applications in self-cleaning and antimicrobial textiles.
