چکیده مقاله:
The development of novel biomaterials based on polymers extracted from microorganisms has an important role in advancing life sciences and tissue engineering. In this study, bioactive b-glucan was extracted from the cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and used to synthesize a porous three-dimensional hydrogel using BDDE as the crosslinking agent. After extraction and purification of B-glucan, the polymeric hydrogel was prepared. The chemical structure and the formation of ether linkages resulting from crosslinking were evaluated by FTIR spectroscopy. In addition, the morphology and porosity of the hydrogel network were examined using SEM and ImageJ software. FTIR results showed changes in the hydroxyl region and confirmed successful formation of ether bonds. SEM images revealed an interconnected porous structure that could provide a suitable physical environment for gas and mutrient exchange. Swelling analysis also showed that the polymeric network had a high capacity for water and fluid uptake. Overall, the yeast B-glucan-based hydrogel exhibited favorable porosity and swelling behavior, suggesting its potential as a promising candidate for tissue engineering and wound healing applications.
