چکیده مقاله:
In an era defined by persistent geopolitical volatility—marked by recurring tariffs, economic sanctions, shifting international alliances, and unpredictable political developments—long-term business planning has become one of the most challenging yet essential capabilities for multinational corporations. This research article explores how leading global firms develop and implement sustainable strategies that effectively balance short-term risk mitigation with long-term value creation and resilience. Employing a longitudinal multiple-case study approach supplemented by quantitative analysis of firm performance data from ۲۰۱۵ to ۲۰۲۶, the study examines ten major companies across technology, energy, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods sectors with varying levels of geopolitical exposure. The findings reveal that successful long-term planning requires integrated scenario-based forecasting, diversified yet resilient supply chain architectures, ethical stakeholder engagement, adaptive organizational structures, and a commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Companies that embed geopolitical foresight into their core strategic processes while maintaining strong ethical standards and sustainability commitments demonstrate superior long-term performance, including higher resilience during shocks, stronger stakeholder relationships, and better alignment with evolving global expectations. The study proposes a comprehensive Strategic Resilience Framework that synthesizes geopolitical risk management with sustainable development goals, offering both theoretical advancement and practical guidance for executives. This framework emphasizes the importance of viewing volatility not merely as a threat but as a potential catalyst for innovation, ethical leadership, and responsible globalization. As geopolitical competition and economic nationalism continue to reshape the international business environment, the ability to plan effectively for the long term while remaining adaptable and principled will increasingly determine which organizations thrive in the decades ahead. The research contributes to strategic management, international business, and sustainability literature by providing an integrative perspective on navigating uncertainty with purpose and responsibility.
